Nigerian students want FG to declare state of emergency on South-East roads

The National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, Zone B, has, asked the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency on federal roads in South-South and South-East geopolitical zones.
The students’ group also strongly kicked against planned sale of the country’s national assets to address the current economic crisis, stressing that “no wise man can lay off a viable asset of his.”
NANS, in a statement by the Coordinator of the zone, Pedro Obi, expressed disappointment at the “current dilapidated status of over 90 percent of federal roads in the regions.
“Notable among them are: East – West Road, Benin – Auchi Expressway, Ewu – Onicha Ugbo Road, Port Harcourt – Owerri, Onitsha – Enugu Expressway, Agbor –Obiaruku – Sapele Expressway, Enugu – Umuahia – Aba Expressway, Umuahia – Ikot Ekpene federal roads.
